Great Lakes Transportation Solutions is a leading freight brokerage with a new focus in heavy haul and flatbed logistics solutions. We connect shippers with reliable carriers to ensure safe and efficient transportation of oversized and specialized freight. We are seeking a dynamic and driven Heavy Haul and Flatbed Logistics BDR to join our team and contribute to our growth in this specialized segment.
Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and prospect new clients in the heavy haul and flatbed logistics industry. Build and maintain strong relationships with potential customers, focusing on generating new business opportunities.

  • Client Consultation: Understand clients' transportation needs, challenges, and specific requirements for heavy haul and flatbed logistics. Provide expert guidance and consultative support to help clients optimize their transportation solutions.

  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities in the heavy haul and flatbed logistics sector. Use this knowledge to identify market gaps, opportunities, and potential areas for expansion.

  • Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve business goals and revenue targets. Collaborate with the sales team and management to implement sales plans and initiatives specific to heavy haul and flatbed logistics.

  • Collaboration with Operations: Collaborate closely with the operations team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of heavy haul and flatbed shipments. Communicate client requirements, equipment needs, and specific load details to ensure successful transportation.

  • Relationship Management: Nurture and strengthen existing client relationships, focusing on building long-term partnerships. Proactively address client concerns, provide exceptional customer service, and resolve any issues that may arise.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress in the CRM system. Generate regular reports and analysis on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development or sales within the freight brokerage industry, with a specific focus on heavy haul and flatbed logistics.
  • In-depth knowledge of heavy haul and flatbed transportation, including permit requirements, load securement, and industry regulations.
  • Strong network and connections within the heavy haul and flatbed logistics industry, including relationships with carriers, shippers, and industry partners.
  • Proven track record of success in driving business growth and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to think strategically.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a passion for sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
